RISK HAI TOH ISHQ HAI.

Hello everyone, this is Mohammad Yusuf. Hope you all are doing great. After writing lots of poem, I am back with an article. Earlier I wrote an article on passion and profession. This time I wrote about risk. So, what is risk? In simple language risk means possibility of something bad happening. But I am not talking about that risk. I mean the risk which involves uncertainty about the effect or implications of certain plans and actions. Risk means the outcomes and possibilities that an individual undertake in order to achieve certain goal or ambition. In simple language, we can say what we are putting on stake to achieve our dreams and to work for our passion. Risk taking is the most important quality of entrepreneurship. The thing which differentiate an entrepreneur from other people is the risk taking ability. He is always ready to take risk for his dreams. If you want to do something big, you have to take bigger risks. Safe players never achieve something big ; they never work for their passion.

Now the question arises why should we take risk in life? The best answer for this question is that 'We have only one life'. Is this statement not enough to provoke a feeling to make your life adventurous ? Only the safe players will say no. We have only one life, so why not to live that life king size. And this is only possible if we will be ready to take risks and challenges. Also, if you want to innovate or do something creative, you cannot do by playing safe game. The bigger your dreams and passion are, the bigger risk you have to take. Your future will be on stake for your present decisions. There is a famous quote by Mark Zuckerberg,  "The biggest risk is not taking any risk." And the title of my article is also taken from the web series Scam 1992 which itself is an example of risk taking. We have seen many personalities who had been doing a job but somewhere they felt that this is not the correct thing they are doing. They lacked passion in their profession. But they were brave enough to take that risk and work for their dreams. This changed their lives upside down. I think its better to take that risk rather than regretting for rest of our lives.

In order to learn about this topic in deep, I have prepared a case study on three people who have achieved a lot at such a young age. It was because they had guts to take those important decisions and they were not lured by the reward of so called "secured job". Here we go.

1. Ajey Nagar (Carryminati)

First, lets talk about Ajey Nagar aka Carryminati. Everyone is well aware of his name. He is a gamer, streamer, youtuber and rapper. Carryminati is one of the most famous name among youths. People follow him for his mimic gameplay and roasting on YouTube. In 2020 he became the most subscribed Asian individual Youtuber with over 29 millions subscribers. This extraordinary achievement is the result of great risk which he took. He put his studies on stake for his passion and dream at a very young age. He attended school till 2016 and then he devoted all his time to YouTube. It was his 12th board exam, he did not study anything because he always wanted to do YouTubing for full time. It was his passion and vision which held him tightly. A day before his Economics exam, he told his father that he would not appear for the exam and he will leave schooling because he wants to focus on his YouTube career. His parents respected his decision and allowed him to work for his career in YouTube but they warned him about the humungous risk which he was going to take. They told him that usually most of the people fail in this field, its very hard to establish himself and if he fails, then he will be left with nothing. Ajey was not frightened . He took that risk and started working on his channel. First he started with a channel named Addicted A1 where he uploaded recorded gameplay with roasting voiceovers. He gained some recognition but not so much. Later he changed his channel's name to CarryDeol where he started roasting famous celebrities. He roasted BBkiVines which changed his fortunes. He became famous but eventually he got so much hate. But that 16 years old boy took that hate in a positive way and he handled everything on his own. He kept on making his videos and in 2020 he gained maximum recognition when he roasted TikTok. Social Media fled with messages for his support. Later he released a song named Yalgaar which broke every musical record on YouTube. Recently he was offered a film with Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bacchan and Rakul Preet. Also, his name featured in TIME,s 10 Next Generation Leaders list. He holds 5 YouTube creator awards which include 2 silver, 2 golden and 1 diamond play button. He is also digital ambassador of many brands.

So, what made Nagar very successful at this small age? It was the risk which he took in his initial days by choosing between his studies and passion. If he would have been chosen his studies then we would have never seen CarryMinati on YouTube. He took the risk and he got his "Ishq". During his journey he failed so many times; he got so many threats but he kept patience and focused only on his dream which made him so successful.

2. Ranveer Allahabadia (BeerBiceps)

Ranveer Allahabadia is a social media entrepreneur, Youtuber, motivational speaker, leadership coach and an author. Currently he has founded BeerBiceps Pvt Ltd, a company that creates self- improvement content on YouTube and has co founded Monk Entertainment, a 50 member organization that provides content marketing and digital marketing solutions. He has achieved great heights at such an young age. But this journey was not easy. He belonged to a well established and rich family yet his journey was not easy. He faced many challenges. He left his well established job to work for his passion and to do something for the society. By doing this, he took a huge risk with his career.

He was a very well performing student until his high school. In 2009, he finished  his schooling and chose to graduate in electronics and telecom engineering. Unfortunately, his first year of engineering turned out to be very bad. he thought that engineering would be very practical and would teach him innovative solutions to real world problems. But in college opposite happened. Mugging up theory without any emphasis on practical education made him lose his interest in studies. He became stressed and at this phase of his life, he started consuming alcohol. He was involved in some toxic relationships. He was pressurized by the society because all his family member were well educated. He even tried to commit suicide but he overcame that thought. Some how he completed his studies and started doing a 9 to 5 job. While doing his job, he felt something was missing in him. He lacked passion. He quit his job, by doing so he took a huge risk.

He started a YouTube channel named BeerBiceps. BeerBiceps originally created only fitness content but very soon he pivoted into general lifestyle content. The channel eventually entered the domain of general self improvement content and today creates videos that encapsulate everything from fitness to style to entrepreneurship to personal finance to mental health. In 2018, he diversified into creating regional content online. Today Hindi YouTube channel, 'Ranveer Allahabadia' stands with more than 2 million subscribers and English YouTube channel has around 3 million subscribers. In 2019 he launched his own podcast show on Spotify which was a big hit. Ranveer also teamed up with Viraj Seth to create Monk Entertainment which provides influencer marketing, social media management and PR services to brands.

So, what changed Ranveer's  life completely? It was the risk he took by quitting his job at an young age. At that age youngsters usually try to build up a safe career and settle with a job but he took that risk and changed his life completely. He found his passion and satisfaction in his work. Now he is working for the welfare of the society.

3. Zakir Khan

Zakir Khan is a standup comedian, writer, poet, musician and actor. He got fame after he won Comedy Central in 2012. He was also part of All India Bakchod. He has many hit comedy shows on Amazon Prime like Kaksha Gyarvi, Chacha Vidhayak Hain Hamare and Haq Se Single. Like the other 2 celebrities, his achievements were also result of a great risk he took. He was not good in studies from his childhood. After finishing his schooling he decided to become a radio jockey. He went to Delhi from his native place Indore in 2008 to study radio programming. After struggling for one year in Delhi, he moved to Jaipur struggled there too. Sometimes he even had to skip his lunch or dinner for want of money. He not even had a single penny in his pocket. His father also became conscious about his decision. He wanted Zakir to do a job and settle in Indore. But Zakir said he would still try his luck and did not want to waste the risk he took. He braved many storms with a strong determination. He did several odd jobs for his survival.

Finally his fortune changed when he was selected in India's Best Standup Comedian after many auditions and later on he won the show. After he gained recognition, in 2015, he was requested to write and co- host "On Air with AIB" by noted comedians like Tanmay Bhat. Since then, there's been no looking back for him. He became very famous for his punch lines 'Sakht Launda', 'Haq Se Single', etc. As of today , he has staged numerous stand-up comedy shows in India and abroad. He also have a YouTube channel with over 8 million subscribers. Recently, he bagged multi show deal with Amazon Prime and produced his own show named "Chacha Vidhayak Hain Hamare".

So, what was the reason for his success? Was it a overnight success? Well, no. It was his hard work, patience and most importantly the risk he took by rejecting a good job of a teacher and working for his dreams and passion in spite of continuous failures. His vision kept him on track and he never regretted about his risk. He proved 'Risk Hai Toh Ishq Hai'.

Humne Kya Seekha?

Now we are in the end of this article. So, what do we learn from this? Well, I personally learned that we should not be afraid of taking genuine risks. We should not always play safe and sometimes we should listen to our inner voice and maybe it will change our life completely. The people who have taken risk has done something big. Opportunities don't knock our doors always. So why should we waste our life in doing boring things and we should take that responsibility and change our life so that we may not regret for rest of our lives. I wrote this article not because I want everyone take risk in life but because the risk taking quality is lacking in todays youth. They are afraid to try something new. They think they will lose their secured career and they bury their passion deep down their mind. I want to evoke that spark again in everyone so that everyone can do the work they love .

One more important thing is with risk factor one should also have patience. Sometimes you may not get the desired outcome but you should keep patience and keep on trying . According to me, RAP is the formula for a productive decision. It stands for Risk And Patience. If you are taking some risk in taking a decision then you should also have patience to bear the consequences. The desired outcome will definitely come. Even though you will fail, you will gain some adventurous experiences. One day your life will flash before your eyes, make sure it is worth watching.
