Heartbeat!

 Hello everyone, this is Mohammad Yusuf. I hope you all are healthy and doing well. I am back with a new poem. This time with a english lyric. Few months back, I started the story of a one sided lover and now I am back with the new chapter. This lyrical bomb is full of emotions and is a tale of pure and most beautiful love which remained incomplete. I penned this poem as a song but publishing it in form of poem. I hope you will love this chapter of my fictional one sided lover's story. So, here we go.

                                     "Heartbeat"

Hey honey, I hope you got my letter,

Let me tell you, my days are still not getting better.

I am having deja vu of the day the first we said hello,

I felt like a lonely planet who got his moon at that moment.

My heart is losing its rhythm of beating,

I think you could be the one who reminds my heart how to beat again.

Even my bones are aching for your healing touch,

I am looking for you with my parched soul because I know you could cure any thirst in my bone.

My every season is passing without a single sight of you,

Honey, just show up once I wanna seep within your soul.

I think I set my expectations so high that,

I couldn't even see if the grass was any greener on the other side.

Whenever you feel lost darling, 

Look at me as your compass who will show you your true north.

I loved you from all my heart and soul,

And even if you don't, just lie and tell me honey that you love me.

I asked you an answer for my confession,

But your lips are sealed, I don't know why?

So, I will make the most beautiful assumption of this world,

I will keep it a secret, like a prayer you have answered.

My eyes always searched for you, even in the butterflies and fireflies,

But the painful truth was you never looked at me.

I always wanted to tell you honey that you are the first and last love of my life,

But I never did instead I kept quiet.

Once I thought that your love is only cure for me,

But darling I think loving you silently was fault in me.

Take me back to the moment when we were together, 

I wanted to hold your hand and stare at you forever.

You fed me with food of friendship,

But I consumed it as fantasy of love.

I had eaten up every non sense story you told me,

And now see, I am infected by a beautiful virus - 'You'.

Your name always brought smile on my face,

Unfortunately honey, I never told you about this.

Your birthdays were like a festival for me, 

Because I get a reason to call you,

But its okay honey you wished me late, I will love you still.

I always searched my masterpiece in you, honey,

But now I came to know our one sided love story was a masterpiece itself.

You gave me reason to write, you made me a poet,

My love, you gave me a version of myself who is at his best.

Pain never felt so good as in the moment our souls collided,

I wanted to consume your every pain through your lips,

I wanted to drink all your grievances through your tears,

But honey I never did because I never told that I loved you like a silent lover.

If I ripped my heart from my chest and branded it with your name,

You would still fail to see me, you would still walk away.

You were like a queen bee for me among the different clusters of bees,

Saddest thing was, you thought I was like others just after your 'honey'.

In my fantasies, we created memories I kept safe for rainy days,

Folding back the tips of their pages so as to never forget.

Deep down in your body, I found a soul like my own,

I wanted to place my self in your arms and call it my home.

Our story was sad one that needed to end,

Though I will never regret loving you because love is what you seemed to have needed most.

I know you never found love in me,

But my love I found my masterpiece in you.

Here's a note which I wrote for you, just like my confession I never gave it to you-

"Let me take you to the moon,

On the unicorn and butterflies as guards,

Only me and you and the best ever kiss,

Honey, hold me tightly, let me be your Heartbeat."
